The Data warehouse can be updated in close to real time, depending of the needs of the application. EnMentoSoft further support recognition of scenarios representing situations of interest to the investigator, and can monitor multiple information bases to alert the investigator when there is sufficiently evidence for a situation of interest. This includes support of alert when missing information or evidence (in a crime case) has appeared, or some potential crime pattern or security threat has emerged from the information bases. Relevant domain knowledge, such as knowledge of scenarios of interest, is maintained in an investigative Knowledge Base.
